How to start a girl triathlon

Every year the triathlon in Russia is becoming increasingly popular. But there is still a lot of information on the Internet for boys from boys, but not enough for girls from girls. And that which is mainly from girls - coaches, for whom most of the processes have long been understood.
To begin with, I'm a one hundred percent amateur. I have no sports experience in any of the three sports that are included in triathlon.
On the water, I knew how to hold, and next to the bike I could stand in alarm. Running began a year before the triathlon class.
At the very beginning, I asked my coach if I would work hard and hard if I could be competitive. She honestly replied that she didn’t, because on ours, and not only the competitions, the places are occupied by the same ones as her coach or by former professional athletes from related sports. In my opinion, this is not a completely fair fight, but for me it was the main thing to understand and accept the fact that I will mainly compete with the “yesterday’s”. On this and calmed down. The first season was predictable, the second I already had a couple of “bonus tables” in history, and the next one I was an ambassador of IRONSTAR.
I started training in May 2016 in a sports camp in Mallorca. Many teams make there fees for the May holidays. I learned to fasten the pedals to the bike, fell, learned to tear off at least one hand from the wheel, learned to swim more than 25 meters in a row, retrained to run. If there is an opportunity to go to some triathlon fees, you must go. Even one week devoted from morning to evening your hobby will give him a very big impetus to development.
I made my first half in Turkey after six months of classes in October 2016 at 6:17. In this 2017, it was held for 5:43.
In the first season I had one Olympian (3:07), races, heats and one half.
In the second season - 3 halves (Ironstar in Sochi, Ironman70.3 in Gdynia for 5:41 and Ironman70.3 in Turkey), two Olympic Games (3:03 and 2:54), sprint Titan in Starocherkassk (1:19), cycling race for 100 km, several half-marathons (the best 1:43), a dozen and three collections.
And I understand that over time, the results are really getting better. What in the beginning seemed unreal distance in small steps becomes closer.
SWIMMING                                                                                                                              
At first, water got into my nose, and I swam with a brace, like in synchronizers. Two weeks later I did not need it. At first I was very scared to swim in open water. So I first took part in several separate swims. After them, I realized that nothing terrible. True, the first time I had a terrible panic. I started with a pace of 2.14 per 100 meters, now I am swimming at 1.48 each. Swimming is my greatest inner pride. I do not like water and every time I come to the pool, I persuade myself to swim at least the first 500m, and then decide whether to continue or not. It always works.
BICYCLE
I'm still getting used to the bike. This is my weakest form in triathlon. I have already made four “halves”, but I'm still afraid to take water bottles from volunteers. In my childhood I didn’t have a bicycle, and I sat on it only after 30. There is a secret in the amount of time spent in the saddle, so I still have everything ahead.
RUN
With running everything is more or less clear. The easier you are, the easier it is for you to carry yourself. This is still the only discipline in which I can even overtake someone in the race. For two and a half years of running, my technique has undergone a great transformation, and now I feel very comfortable in it. In the beginning, it seems to me that all parts of my legs ache, I learned what fascia is, what muscles in my legs, I went for massages, to osteopaths, doctors, I made special insoles. A year later, all by itself passed. They explained to me that the body simply had to reorganize from constant walking, which I had been practicing for more than 30 years on a constant run.
HEALTH
Sometimes novice girls ask me about "women's days." Well, maybe some slight discomfort is present, but nothing extraordinary. If they are directly painful, you can skip the workout. In fact, in the first couple of days, I guess, I don’t go to the pool. Run and bike, they do not interfere.
Everything else health only improved. Before the triathlon, I never gave tests without special need. Now they do it a couple of times a year, which I consider a good habit.
